Bellary:
Driver's Suicide Note Alleges Janardhan Reddy Laundered Rs 100 Crore Black Money.

The driver of a Karnataka bureaucrat has allegedly committed suicide after accusing the officer and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy of harassing him over laundered black money.

Ramesh Gowda, who worked as a driver for special land acquisition officer Bheema Naik in Bengaluru, committed suicide on Tuesday by consuming poison.

In his suicide note, Gowda claimed that he had information on how Reddy converted Rs 100 crore black money into white and hence was receiving constant death threats.

Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer Naik was accused by Gowda of having received a 20 percent cut for helping Reddy convert the money needed for his daughter's lavish wedding.

The suicide note claims, Reddy along with BJP MP Sriramulu met Nayak several times in a five star hotel in Bangalore before the wedding. Along with 20 percent cut, Nayak wanted Reddy to help him get a ticket to contest the 2018 Karnataka elections. A case has been booked against Nayak and his driver Mohammed.

The Income Tax department visited Reddy’s house in Bellary after the "Rs 500 crore" wedding and asked him to produce details.
